Recently, a new species of insect has invaded the United States, causing many diseases. These insects, known as kissing bugs, are particularly feared. They were first reported in Texas and quickly infested many homes. These insects are nicknamed “kissing bugs” because of their habit of biting around the mouths of sleeping people. They are most active during the night, which makes them even more insidious, as they bite their victims when they are most vulnerable.
