• Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
• Prepare the Ribeye Steaks:
• Take the ribeye steaks out of the refrigerator and let them sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking.
• Rub the steaks with olive oil and minced garlic on both sides.
• Season the steaks with salt and pepper, ensuring they are evenly coated on all sides.
• Prepare the French Fries:
• Peel the potatoes and cut them into thin strips, about 1/4 inch thick.
• Place the potato strips in a bowl of cold water and let them soak for about 15-20 minutes. This helps remove excess starch and results in crispier fries.
• Drain the water from the bowl and pat the potatoes dry with paper towels.
• Toss the dry potato strips in vegetable oil and spread them out on a baking sheet in a single layer. You may need to use two baking sheets if they are too crowded.
• Cook the Steaks and French Fries:
• Place the seasoned ribeye steaks on a preheated grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or adjust the cooking time based on your desired level of doneness (5-6 minutes for medium, and so on).
• While the steaks are cooking, put the baking sheet with the french fries into the preheated oven. Bake for about 30-35 minutes or until the fries are golden and crispy, flipping them once halfway through.
• Rest the Steaks:
• Once the steaks are cooked to your liking, remove them from the heat and let them rest for a few minutes before serving. This allows the juices to redistribute and keeps the steak juicy
• You can serve with your favorite steak sauce, ketchup, or any other condiment of your choice.
