Directions

  1. In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugars together until light and fluffy.
  2. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, cornstarch, and salt. Gradually add this to the creamed mixture, mixing well until a dough forms.
  3. Roll the dough into a 15x2x1-inch rectangle and chill.
  4. Preheat the oven to 325°F.
  5. Slice the dough into 1/4-inch slices and place them 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheets.
  6. Prick each slice with a fork to allow steam to escape.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until set. Remove to wire racks to cool.
