Ron Howard refers to his wife as his “good luck charm” and reveals the key to their 49-year marriage.

While acting in The Andy Griffith Show, Howard also acted in the movie The Music Man in 1962, which was very successful at the box office.

With his natural talent, he became a prominent actor in the movie American Graffiti from 1973. The film also featured actors like Harrison Ford, Richard Dreyfuss, and Cindy Williams, with whom he would collaborate in the future.

In 1974, he got a role as Richie Cunningham in a TV show named Happy Days, created by Garry Marshall. The show was on TV from 1974 to 1984.

The TV show led to some popular new series like Laverne & Shirley, featuring Penny Marshall, and Mork & Mindy with Robin Williams as Mork.

In 1970, before he received a Golden Globe for his role as a young character on Happy Days, Howard met his high school girlfriend, Cheryl Alley. They got married in 1975.

“I met her, and no one else mattered after that.” Talking to individuals, the person in charge of the Da Vinci Code movie said, “She has always been incredibly helpful and supportive.” Our connection has stayed strong despite going through many different situations.

After 50 years of being together, Howard, who won an Oscar for directing a movie called A Beautiful Mind, celebrated the 50th anniversary of his first date with Cheryl on Instagram

“On November 1, 1970, Cheryl and I had our first date,” he wrote next to a picture of himself wearing socks with pictures of Cheryl’s face. “We watched a showing of Stanley Kramer’s movie It’s a Mad Mad Mad World that was being shown again, and later we ate pizza at a place called Barnone’s in Toluca Lake that is no longer open.” What a great beginning, isn’t it?

He also told them about their plans for the day, saying, “We will be driving in the same 1970 Volkswagen Beetle that I used to pick Cheryl up in 50 years ago.” It works really well. “We do too.”

Cheryl appeared in a few of Howard’s works and even portrayed herself on the TV show Arrested Development, which was created and narrated by Howard.

In an interview with the Television Academy, Ron referred to Cheryl as his “good luck charm” and said that’s why she is in every movie he creates.

“At one time, I became very superstitious about ensuring that she shows up in the film, that she can be recognized in at least one scene,” he explained. “They don’t need to be major appearances, but she must be included.”

Cheryl not only brings luck to her husband but is also a writer with a degree in psychology and screenwriting.

The couple is grandparents to six children and parents to four: their daughter Bryce, twins Paige and Jocelyn, and son Reed.

Bryce is a famous actor known for appearing in films such as Jurassic World and The Help. Paige started her acting career in the movie Adventureland in 2009. She has acted in movies like The Employer and Collection.

Reed is a golfer by profession, and Jocelyn, Paige’s twin sister, is very private.

Approaching their 49th anniversary on June 7, the producer who has won an Emmy Award says that “communication” is the key to their long-lasting love.
