Place chopped chicken and brown sugar in a slow cooker to make this popular take-out dish

Place the cut chicken at the bottom of a 4-quart slow cooker.

In another bowl, mix together the soy sauce, sugar, vinegar, garlic, and ginger. Pour this mixture on top of the chicken.

Place a lid on the pot and cook on low heat for 4-5 hours.

Once the chicken is cooked, remove it from the heat. To thicken the leftover sauce, mix cornstarch with warm water until smooth. Slowly mix this into the sauce to make it thicker.

Put the chicken back in the slow cooker, making sure it is covered in the sauce.
