Philly steak cheese fries

 

For the Cheese Sauce:

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded provolone cheese
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

For the Philly Steak Topping:

  • 1 pound thinly sliced beef sirloin or ribeye steak
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

For the Fries:

  • 1 bag (about 24 ounces) frozen French fries or shoestring fries
  • Vegetable oil for frying (if not using oven-baked fries)
