My grandmother made it 40 years ago, and this dish still reminds me of hers

What you will need:

For the meatballs:

1 <>/<> cup self-rising flour

2 tablespoons of softened butter

1/3 cup of milk

For the sauce:

2 cups of boiling water

1/2 cup brown sugar

3/4 cup golden syrup

3/<> tablespoons of melted butter

Instructions:

Start by sifting the self-rising flour into a large mixing bowl.

Add the softened butter to the bowl with the flour. Using your fingertips, rub the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs.

Gradually pour in the milk, stirring to combine. Mix until you obtain a soft dough.

With clean hands, shape the dough into small, evenly sized balls, about the size of a regular ping-pong ball.
