HAMBURGER STEAKS WITH BROWN GRAVY

Instructions:

Making the Hamburger Steaks:

  1. Prepare the Ground Beef Mixture:
    • In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, finely chopped onions, egg, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
    • Use your hands to gently mix the ingredients until they’re well combined. Be careful not to overwork the meat mixture, as it can result in tough steaks.
  2. Forming the Patties:
    • Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape them into oval-shaped patties, about 3/4 to 1 inch thick. Make an indentation in the center of each patty with your thumb to prevent bulging while cooking.
  3. Cooking the Hamburger Steaks:
    • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
    • Once the oil is hot, carefully add the patties to the skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until they’re nicely browned and cooked through. Adjust the cooking time based on your preferred level of doneness. Remove the patties from the skillet and set them aside.
