Flaky Apple Pie Bars 

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13 inch pan with parchment paper.

2. In a food processor, pulse together flour and granulated sugar. Add butter and pulse until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

3. Press two-thirds of the crumb mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan.

4. Toss sliced apples with lemon juice, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.

5. Spread the apple mixture over the crust in the pan.

6. In a small saucepan, combine cornstarch and apple cider, cook until thick. Stir in vanilla.

7. Pour over the apple layer. Crumble the remaining flour mixture on top.

8. Bake for 45-50 minutes until golden and bubbly.

9. Allow to cool before slicing into bars.
