Crispy Baked French Fries (Oil-Free)

  1. Preheat your oven to 220°C (425°F). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  2. Scrub the potatoes clean under running water, then pat them dry with a kitchen towel. Leave the skin on for extra fiber and texture, or peel them if you prefer.
  3. Cut the potatoes into evenly sized French fry shapes. Try to make them as uniform as possible to ensure even cooking.
  4. In a large bowl, mix together the cornstarch (if using), paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  5. Add the potato slices to the bowl with the seasoning mixture. Toss until the potatoes are evenly coated.
  6. Arrange the seasoned potato slices in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, making sure they are not overcrowded. If they are too close together, they may steam instead of crisping up.
  7. Lightly spray the potato slices with cooking spray. This helps them crisp up in the oven.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, flipping the fries halfway through the baking time, until they are golden brown and crispy.
  9. Once done, remove the fries from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving.

These crispy baked French fries are delicious on their own or served with your favorite dipping sauces, such as ketchup, mustard, or aioli. They’re a healthier alternative to traditional deep-fried fries and are sure to satisfy your cravings for a crispy, flavorful snack. Enjoy!
