10 Ways to Use Fabric Softener That Have Nothing to Do with Laundry

Removes Soap Scum
Showers and bathtubs tend to get soap scum and water stains over time. If you have white or light colored tiles, this will be even more noticeable. Simply apply a little fabric softener to a cloth and wipe it over the soap scum stains. After about 10 minutes, wipe off the fabric softener and rinse.

Remove Stubborn Wallpaper
If you’ve ever tried to remove old wallpaper from a room, you know how difficult it can be. Make it easier on yourself by mixing a few tablespoons of fabric softener with water. Apply the solution to the wallpaper with a sponge, then wait about 10 minutes. After that, the wallpaper should come off more easily.

Air Freshener
When used in moderation, fabric softener can act as a deodorizer. Simply mix one part fabric softener, two parts water, and a few tablespoons of baking soda in a spray bottle. Spray the mixture around your home to remove odors. Remember to spray in a well-ventilated area or open the windows so the smell doesn’t get too strong.

Even
if you clean your brushes thoroughly, they may be all dry and crusty the next time you use them. After cleaning, soak your brushes in water mixed with a drop of fabric softener. Dry them as usual and they will be much softer the next time you use them.

Eliminates Static Electricity If your carpets and furniture are full of static electricity during the dry winter months, mix one part fabric softener with two parts water. Spray these items lightly with the spray and then wait for them to dry. This will keep the static electricity away for a while.

Removes Dirt and Stains from Cookware
If your cookware is covered in embedded dirt and burnt food particles, add a few drops each of fabric softener and hot water and then let it soak. After about an hour, the dirt should wipe off easily.
